Equipment Used to Prepare your Roof Shingles for Winter

 

What you need to complete the basic Roof Maintenance in preparation for winter:

 

  • A Safe Ladder (and spotter) – This is to gain access to the roof & gutters safely
  •  

  • Leaf Blower – This is to be used for clearing the debris, leafs & small branches from the gutter
  •  

  • Extension Cord – This is to be used to connect to the Leaf blower (if it is an electric one)
  •  

  • Putty Knife – This is used for plugging your cracks and holes with putty
  •  

  • Utility Knife – This is used to remove any rubber, debris & other materials when you are repairing the roof
  •  

  • Caulking Gun – This is used if you have roof shingles
  •  

  • Mastic in a Tube – used for sealing items coming off your roof like a chimney
  •

What to prepare on your roof for Winter?

As summer is winding up you should be starting to prepare your home for winter.
